Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi

Upon Arrival, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. For the road transport option, this is a 9 – 10 hours Journey. For the domestic flight option, this journey is 4-5 hours. If you are on a road transport option, pass by the equator in Masaka for the equator experience. You’ll make a stopover for lunch en route. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of western Uganda on your way. Make stop over to take photos of the great hills and terraces. Upon arrival at Bwindi, check into your lodge. If you used the flight option, you have a chance of doing a community tour of tea plantations or visit the traditional Batwa tribe. Accommodation options range from budget, midrange and luxury.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast at 6:30am, drive to the briefing area for a briefing. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla group which you’ll track with eight (8) other people. Carry packed lunch and a lot of drinking water – preferably 4 drinking water bottles per person because tracking involves climbing the rugged forested terrain. After the briefing, which ends at 8:00 am, proceed to track your gorilla group. Your group will be assigned to a ranger who will lead you on the tracks. Once you come across the gorillas, you are allowed to stay for one hour to observe these gentle giants. After meeting and observing your gorilla group, return to the briefing point to be awarded a certificate in recognition of your gorilla tracking. After, meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Visit the Ishasha Sector in search of tree climbing lions. If we are lucky we will find the lions relaxing in the trees. At Ishasha Sector, lions spend the day up in trees. It is an amazing sight – something that you only find in two places in the whole of Africa; Ishasha in Uganda and Lake Manyara in Tanzania. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi. We will try again to search for tree climbing lions in case we didn’t find them. If we found yesterday, we could proceed to do a game drive in another area in search more wildlife like buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, lions, leopard, hippos and birds. In the afternoon, drive to the Mweya Peninsula for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Kazinga Channel is a natural water channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George. On the boat cruise, spot buffaloes, elephants, hippos and a wide array of water loving birds. This is a beautiful sight because all these animals come to the banks to drink water. After the boat cruise, return your waiting car and drive back to your lodge. Relax at the lodge and look out for small animals and birds that may come around your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee tracking

After an early breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest National Park. This journey is approximately 3 hours west ward via Kasese to Fort Portal passing through a magnificent countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. Arrive at Fort Portal town; which rests in the shadows of the Remarkable Mountains of the Moon – Mount Rwenzori. Do a community walk and discover the way of life of the people in the area. Play with the children and take amazing photos of the people. You’ll be taken over by the friendliness of the Ugandan. Head back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking

After an early breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest briefing area. You be assigned to a group led by a ranger. Drive to the starting point of tracking and begin your tracking. You will start this activity at 8.00 am in the morning. When you encounter the chimpanzees, your and will be given one hour to watch them. You’ll be amazed by their human like gestures and actions. Also look out for Colobus monkeys swinging through the dense forest. You will be provided with detailed explanations on primates, and all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both illuminating and fun. Later in the afternoon, drive through Fort Portal town and head to Amabere Ganyina mwiru caves where you will explore the caves that have a fascinating history. Visit the waterfalls and do a crater lakes tour. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 7: Departure

After breakfast, drive to Kampala. Along the way, explore the city and the different towns. If you had used a domestic flight option on day 1, pass by the equator in Masaka for an equator experience. Continue with your journey to Entebbe International Airport. If there is enough time, explore Entebbe and buy Souvenirs. Board your flight back home.
